Is your blog is a high quality blog? How do you know? You probably said that you have made a very fantastic statistics, but how do you measure that? I noted there are at least 9 indicators that will determine the quality of a blog.

1. Traffic

Have you seen an ads saying "Bring targeted traffic to your blog" or "40000 unique visitors to your website"? Yeah, that's what bloggers looking for, traffic, traffic and traffic. Your blog will be useless event you have a high quality posts, great design, but nobody visit your blog. Some people event spend some money to advertise their blog like in Google Adwords or any other advertising providers. The main reason is to bring traffic to the blog. There are many tools you can use to track the traffic to your blog such as Google Analytics, Site Meter, etc.

2. Regular Posting

A high quality blog is the one that has an up to date information. If you look at the site like CNN, BBC, Problogger and many more you will find that they are very consistent in writing a new article. The common problem that bloggers are facing is the lack of idea for their posting. For that reason they start to invite guest writers to help them.

3. Link Popularity

Generally Link Popularity is the total number of websites that link to your site. I wrote about link popularity on my previous post. The main idea is to see how popular is your blog compare to other blogs

4. Comments

If you have a great blog design that's good. If you post articles regularly that's great. But when you can attract people to put comments on you post that would be excellent. Look at the popular blogs. For most of their posts there are tens or event hundreds comments respond to their post.

5. RSS Subscriber

This is the way to maintain the loyalty of your blog readers. You can create community of readers by inviting people to subscribe to your RSS. But this is not easy. People who subscribed to your RSS means that they are waiting for any update coming from your blog. Currently most bloggers use Feedburner to manage their RSS feeds.

6. Online Users

One of the tools that bloggers use to show the number of online users of their blog is Whos.amung.us. By putting this widget you can see how many users are accessing your blog.

7. Page Counter

If you are familiar with a web analysis tools you fill find that one of the parameter is the Page View. This will show you how many times readers view pages on your blog. One visitor might view more than one page per visit. There are huge page counter tools available on the internet. Just grab one of them and put it on your blog.

8. Social Network Response

Have you ever submit your blog post to a Social Network like Digg.com or stumble upon? If so, how many people respond to the story you submitted. Or if you look at the Technorati rank. It's based on the number of response to your blog which they called authority.

9. Revenue

One of the reason to blog is money. That's why "Make Money Online" now became very popular in blogging world. However there are also bloggers that choose not to commercialize their blog. But if you are not one of them, revenue is became something that you want to achieve.
