A Little History of My Blog Templates
Officially i started this blog on November 6, 2007. Yesterday it's been 6 months i running this blog. During this period i have changed my blog template for 7 times and this Langit template i'm using is the 7th. There are many reasons why i changed my templates such as features, ease of use, appearances or just want to have a fresh look. This is actually not a good practice and what i found is it's always painful when changing your blog templates since you have to re-work everything you've done like putting scripts for recent posts, tag clouds, etc. I really hope i'm going to use this current template for long time unless i found another interesting templates.
Here are few blogger templates i used before on this blog. If you found it's interesting you can use it or just give a try.
Blog Oh Blog
Glossy Blue
Typo XP
Ilacrimo

A Bit About Link Popularity
Generally Link Popularity is the total number of websites that link to your site. Sometimes we call it website rank, traffic rank or whatever that show how popular is your website or blog comparing to others. This is become important because good link popularity can dramatically increase traffic to your blog. And also knowing the link popularity of a blog is a very simple way to see how good they are.
Basically there are 4 Link Popularity standards that are commonly used :
Google PageRank
Google describe PageRank :PageRank relies on the uniquely democratic nature of the web by using its vast link structure as an indicator of an individual page's value. In essence, Google interprets a link from page A to page B as a vote, by page A, for page B. But, Google looks at more than the sheer volume of votes, or links a page receives; it also analyzes the page that casts the vote. Votes cast by pages that are themselves "important" weigh more heavily and help to make other pages "important".
The numbers rank from 0 to 10. On the last PageRank update OnlineTechJournal PR has been decreased to PR2 from PR3 previously.
Yahoo! Search InLinks
The "InLinks" is a number of web pages pointing to your site. It's based on Yahoo! search. Based on Yahoo! Search InLinks currently there are 401 web pages pointing to OnlineTechJournal.
MSN
This is somehow not popular in measuring blog popularity but similar to Yahoo! Search InLinks, this data shows the number of web pages pointing to your site based on MSN search. Currently there are 11 web pages are pointing to OnlineTechJournal
Alexa Traffic Rank
Alexa Traffic Rank is a very famous tool used to rank web site traffic. Alexa computes traffic rankings by analyzing the Web usage of millions of Alexa Toolbar users and data obtained from other, diverse traffic data sources. In Alexa, the lower the rank you have is the better.
There are a huge websites that provide online service to check Link Popularity. Some of them are also provide a widget script so you can put it on your blog. Below are some recommended Link Popularity checkers :
If you know any websites provide the same tool please share it here.
